Two Men Arrested for Auto Burglaries
LAS CRUCES- Las Cruces Police have arrested a pair of men suspected of breaking into and burglarizing three vehicles early Friday morning.
John Anthony Brinsfield, 37, and Joshua L. Dinsmore, 29, are charged with three counts each of auto burglary, and one count each of larceny and conspiracy.
Shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, Las Cruces Police were called to the University Hills neighborhood where three vehicles were broken into. Police learned that various items were taken from the vehicles.
A witness told police that the suspects may have left the area in a white, older-model pickup with a stripe along its side. A short while later, a Las Cruces Police officer spotted a pickup matching that description and stopped it on Missouri Avenue.
Brinsfield, Dismore and a 25-year-old woman were in the pickup along with some of the items that were reported stolen. Investigators determined that Brinsfield and Dinsmore were responsible for the burglaries. No charges have been filed against the woman.
Brinsfield and Dinsmore are each being held on a $5,000 bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
