Two Inmates Escape Jail in Dona Ana County

DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M.- Police are searching for two inmates that escaped from a juvenile detention center in Dona Ana County last night.

Jesus M. Loera, 18,  and Joshua Hernandez, 16, escaped from the J. Paul Taylor Center, a juvenile detention facility operated by the Children Youth and Families Department.

Loera and Hernandez overpowered a juvenile detention officer, tied the officer up, took the officer’s facility keys and escaped out of the back of the facility. Once outside, the two climbed over a fence and fled in an unknown direction.

- Hispanic male
- 18 years old
- 5’8”/150
- Hair – Black Eyes – Brown
- Tattoos – right arm “PELON” left arm “P” left leg “WS”

Joshua Hernandez of Mesquite:
- Hispanic male
- 16 years old
- 5’8”/170
- Hair – Black Eyes - Brown
