Three People Arrested in Las Cruces Robbery
LAS CRUCES- Police arrested three people who are believed to have taken part in an armed robbery Wednesday evening.
Zachary Hoffman, 35, Ashley Lorraine Morris, 25, and Karenzio Taniel Polk, 24, are charged with one count each of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Hoffman and Morris also face charges of kidnapping.
Wednesday night, police were called to the 1400 block of Branding Iron Circle where a 44-year-old man said an acquaintance of his, Hoffman, came to his home, showed a gun, and demanded $40 from him. Police learned that Morris accompanied Hoffman while he committed the robbery and Polk remained in a Ford Mustang that they arrived in.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
After committing the armed robbery Hoffman, Morris and Polk fled the area in the white Ford Mustang.
A short while later, officers spotted the Mustang as it approached Hoffman’s house Hoffman. Morris and Polk were taken into custody and found the gun in the backseat.
Hoffman and Morris are being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bonds set at $60,000 each. Polk is being held on a $35,000 bond. Las Cruces Police are continuing their investigation and additional charges are possible.
