Students At A Central El Paso Elementary School Take Part In Spelling Bee
The best spellers at a Central El Paso elementary school took part in a lively competition this afternoon.
Fourth-grader Michael Perez won Moreno Elementary's spelling bee. NewsChannel 9's Oralia Ortega had the honor of being the pronouncer.
The competition was heated, with Michael going 24 rounds to earn the top spot. Now he'll represent his school in the city-wide spelling bee come march.
"How are you going to prepare for that spelling bee?" Michael was asked.
"Study some more words in my spelling book," he replied.
Sixteen fourth and fifth graders participated in the spelling bee and they all did a fantastic job. Congratulations to the students, parents and teachers!
