EL PASO - Across the country Fourth of July weekend is celebrated with all things red, white and blue and colorful fireworks lighting up the sky.

Today, El Paso County leaders banned the use and sale of skyrockets with sticks/rods and all forms of missiles with fins for the holiday because of the dry conditions in the county in a 5-0 vote.

UPDATE: Socorro City Officials would like to remind its residents that all fireworks are banned within Socorro city limits.
