Socorro City Leaders Vote to Postpone Elections
SOCORRO- Socorro residents will have to wait another six months before they can vote.
That's because Socorro city leaders voted to move general elections to November. The spokesperson for Socorro says the new election date gets away from having to rent voting equipment from the county during the general May election and saves Socorro money. The new date also gives soldiers coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan the time to vote. Special and bond elections can still be held in May.
