LAS CRUCES- San Andres High School library now has more than 8,000 books to share with the public.

The library is open to San Andres students during the school day and to the community during the day and four evenings during the week. The library is open Monday-Thursday: 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., and Friday: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m

Thanks to a $48,000 grant from the Stocker Foundation received earlier this year, the library now has a large children’s book section – more than 2,200 books for students ages kindergarten through fifth grade, said Shaw. The Stocker grant also paid for shelving units, a bench, bookends, beanbag chairs and even a reading rug to make the section more inviting to young children.
