EL PASO- Colder temperatures are forcing many homeless people indoors, if they can find a place.

The Salvation Army says when temperatures dip to freezing, it sees an extra 50 to 75 homeless El Pasoans looking for a warm bed. That forces the Salvation Army to open its emergency shelter, which requires more donations.

"El Paso is always good in giving. They are always good as far a projecting the need and seeing the need, and if you find somebody who needs assistance you can always direct them to the Salvation Army," says Russell Czaikowski, Salvation Army.

Get in touch with the Salvation Army if you'd like to volunteer to ring bells at its donation kettles this holiday season.
