Roller Derby Team Visits Elementary School To Give Students Tips For TAKS Test

Friday, April 1, 2011 - 9:45pm

You don't want to mess with the guests who rolled into Schuster Elementary today: the El Paso Roller Derby Team. And what do you guess they taught the kids? A: how to body slam the kid next to you or B: how to get pumped for the TAKS test next week. The school principal says the roller girls had some great tips for the students on how to prepare for the big standardized test.

"The roller derby team knows all about getting ready for the big game and that's what we're doing here. We're helping our kids get ready for the big game next week, the TASK test," said Schuster Elementary principal Anthony Tomasheski.

If you're into roller derby, you can catch the Pistol Whip-hers and the Tex Pistols in a bruising match April 16th against the bad girls from Midland and Odessa at the El Paso County Coliseum.
