Registration Open for Annual Holiday Lights Parade
El Paso, Texas - El Paso Employees Federal Credit Union and the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department are proud to host the 14th Annual Holiday Lights Parade.
The event is coordinated with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at San Jacinto Plaza.
This year the tree lighting and parade will be Saturday, December 3, 2011, with the parade starting at 5:55 p.m., right after the tree is lighted. Fireworks will light up the downtown skies again this year thanks to the sponsorship of El Paso Employees Federal Credit Union.
Parade registration forms are being accepted now at the Recreation Division, Administration Office for El Paso Parks and Recreation at 911 S. Ochoa St. with an entry deadline of 4:00 p.m. on November 14th.
Registration forms can be downloaded at the Parks and Recreation web site at www.elpasotexas.gov/parks.
The number of entries is limited to the first 60 (50 floats and 10 walking/marching groups) and there is a fee for the parade based on the size of the entry. Registration forms will be taken on a first come basis. The parade had upwards of 83,000 people on the parade route last year to partake in the festivities.
