Police Book Suspect in June Robbery
EL PASO- Police have booked a man in connection with the June 22 robbery of a Northeast El Paso Walgreens.
William Eric Patterson, 51, is charged with one count of robbery, one count of fugitive from justice, and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say Patterson approached a female in the parking lot of the Walgreens and demanded money and her purse. He threatened to shoot the female victim and a struggle ensued over the purse then fled the area in a white Toyota pickup truck.
Officers and investigators spotted the vehicle and the suspect at Pellicano & Gene Torres minutes later. When officers tried to stop Patterson, he intentionally rammed three police vehicle, missed and forth and collide with another at Montana and Saul Klienfield. He exited the truck and began to run from pursuing officers towards a day care center.
Police apprehended Patterson and he was taken to an area hospital following the incident.
His bonds total $218,500.
