EL PASO - A string of public complaints involving illegal dumping in far east El Paso prompted seven arrests by the Sheriff's office. Based on the information received, Sheriff’s Office Strike Team Deputies conducted a week-long desert operation that ended Saturday. Operation Desert Sweep concluded with the arrest of 7 individuals all of whom were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of illegal dumping ranging from 5 pounds up to 1,000 pounds or more.

The Sheriff’s Office will continue similar operations in the future.

This illegal dumping is a huge problem out in east El Paso - horray that something was finally done about it! The sheriff should do sweeps like these more often though, because these people arrested here are only a handful of the people that committ these crimes.
