Officer Helps Stalled Motorist, Finds Cocaine

EL PASO- An El Paso Sheriff’s Deputy stopped to help a stalled motorist last Friday and discovered 36 pounds of cocaine.


Police say the driver, 49-year-old Jesus Salsido, was behaving extremely nervous. The deputy conducted a K-9 search of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics at the rear of the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, the officer discovered 36.4 pounds of cocaine inside the subject’s vehicle.

Salsido was placed under arrest and charged for Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 (Cocaine) over 400 Grams and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $500,000.00 bond.
