Thousands of Borderland students took a break today for story time.  NewsChannel 9 main anchor Oralia Ortega was among the volunteers who read to them for the "Book in a Bag" project.

Oralia visited Mr. Hernandez's 1st grade class at Loretto Academy and read them the book "Two Apples, Two Cookies".

"Book in a Bag" is organized by the United Way of El Paso and promotes literacy.  About 5,000 1st graders took part in the event.  Two hundred volunteers helped make it happen.  The event started in 2004.
