According to the CDC, Latinos/Hispanics progress to AIDS faster than any other racial or ethnic group with 42% being diagnosed with AIDS within 12 months after learning of their positive HIV status. NLAAD takes place annually on October 15, the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month. The theme for this year is “Save a Life, It May be your Own, Get Tested for HIV,” and the HIV Prevention and MPowerment programs are teaming up to test as many as possible at a local nightclub. Find out more about this event and why it is so critical that we all get involved. For more information, please visit http://www.nlaad.org/
