Motorcycle-Riding Santa Delivers Gifts to Hospital
EL PASO, TX - Sometimes, when Santa's reindeer need a break, he rides in on a motorcycle.
That was the case this morning, when Santa and dozens of his helpers from the El Paso Motorcycle Coalition rode into University Medical Center to deliver gifts for kids who had to spend Christmas in the hospital.
"Santa goes in and we deliver toys and we get to visit with the children and their families and just try to make sure that we pass forward the blessings before we go onto ours," said Caroline Camfield from El Paso Motorcycle Coalition.
The bikers have been collecting toys since their toy run last month.
They said that delivering gifts was the best part of their Christmas.
"They're in such a time of being displaced out of their homes," Camfield said. "They're in a place of trying to get well. And trying to bring joy and just happiness to those kids, that makes our Christmas."
Camfield also said that bikers can sometimes get a bad wrap. And days like today should go to prove that sometimes people with good hearts can ride in any kind of sled.
"It was nice to know they invited bikers to come in and that we're not bad people," Camfield said. "We're good. We come to bring joy and peace and good toys and lots of joy."
