Medical Center Donates 350 Supply-Filled Backpacks to Kids
LAS CRUCES- For the seventh year in a row, the staff of Memorial Medical Center (MMC) will donate backpacks filled with school supplies to needy LCPS students as they prepare to begin a new school year.
The backpacks are filled with pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, rulers, glue, scissors and other supplies from the LCPS school supplies list. The backpacks are labeled according to grade and will be distributed to students at all LCPS schools, said LCPS Title I social worker Yoli Silva.
“It is a great donation that helps many of our students and their families start the school on a positive note,” said Silva.
During the past six years, MMC staff have donated more than 1,925 backpacks to needy LCPS students.
