EL PASO- A man left a baby in an apartment complex parking lot after stealing a car with the 2-month-old baby inside early this morning.

The mother, Laura Gonzalez,  had placed her child inside the running vehicle, then went back inside her apartment to grab something. When she came back, she saw her car driving away with her baby inside.

Shortly after, a lady found the child abandoned in another parking lot nearby and called the police. The child was reunited with the mother. Police took the child's carseat as evidence to try to extract fingerprints from the seat.

Police are still searching for the suspect and the car. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the 2007 blue Toyota Matrix is asked to call police.
