Romero is expected to appear in federal court in Las Cruces on Thursday.

Witnesses say a man went to the walk-up window of the bank's drive-through section at about 5:50 p.m. He gave a teller an envelope that said he had a bomb.

The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.
