Man Arrested After Fleeing Into Desert

EL PASO- Sheriffs deputies have arrested a man after he fled from a traffic stop in Montana Vista Thursday night.
Deputies stopped 19-year-old Andrew Borrego in the 2200 block of South Ascension around 5:30 p.m. last night.
While speaking with a female driver, deputies said Borrego exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Search and Rescue Team was called to the area and was able to find Borrego hiding beneath a bush after 15 minutes.
A warrant check revealed Borrego has two outstanding criminal warrants for indecency with a child sexual contact and unauthorized absence from a correctional facility. He was booked on those charges as well as evading arrest.
The female driver, 20-year-old Guadalupe Campos, was also arrested for possession of marijuana under two ounces.
