Loretto High Students Take Vow of Silence for 9/11 Victims
EL PASO- Nearly 90 students of Loretto High will take a vow of silence to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks.
For the tenth consecutive year, the junior class of Loretto Academy High School will take an all day Vow of Silence in memory of the victims.
On Monday, September 12, 2011, at 8:00 a.m., the students will begin their commemoration in front of the high school building. They will form a circle around the flag pole and begin the day by saying a prayer and reading a poem in memory of all those who died or were injured on that tragic day of September 11, 2001.
All 89 students will take a vow of silence for an entire school day and will communicate only by using notes. After taking the vow, the students will quietly proceed to their first class. At 3:00 p.m., the girls will gather at the foyer of the high school building where they will chant their class cheer, signifying the end of their day of silence.
