A local hair salon is trying to do their part to help the cleanup efforts in the Gulf. Instead of sweeping and tossing hair that's been cut, Barragan's Salon and Spa is collecting the clippings.  The hair will help to soak up the hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil that's poured into the gulf.  Managers say it's the least they can do.

"It's an amazing process. They use all of the hair we cut. They put it in nylons, so they're also taking donations of nylons, and they make these hair mats out of them, and it soaks a lot of oil," said Delilah Mejia.

The salon started the collection last week, and says it's already gotten a lot to send. They will continue collecting clippings through the month.

Most of the hair they are sending is already pretty GREASY, isnt it counterproductive?
