LAS CRUCES – US Bank Coats for Kids of Las Cruces distributed coats to 3,000 children from Las Cruces Public Schools this week.

The program has given 28,000 coats to needy children since it began 17 years ago.

“I am so grateful to the Las Cruces community for ‘stepping up’ and supplying either coats or cash. With the cash donations, we are able to purchase new coats, which supplement the used ones we receive. There were lots of smiles on Saturday and I am honored to be part of this program,” said long-time Coats for Kids of Las Cruces volunteer Karen Bailey.
