LAS CRUCES- Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a man who committed an armed robbery this morning at an area motel.

This morning a man thought to be in his late 20’s entered the Super 8 motel at 245 La Posada Lane, just off Valley Drive, and threatened a clerk with what was believed to be a concealed handgun.

Las Cruces Police learned that the suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash, exited the motel and left in a silver Dodge Stratus.

The suspect is described as possibly a light-skinned Hispanic man in his late 20’s, around 5-feet-10-inches tall with dark colored eyes. The suspect is said to have freckles across his cheek bones and over the bridge of his nose. He was wearing a red shirt with “San Antonio” lettering, blue jeans and a dark baseball cap.

The vehicle he was seen leaving in is described as a late 1990’s or slightly newer Dodge Stratus.
