"La Familia" Drug Cartel Leader Killed In Shootout, According To Mexican Authorities

One of the leaders and founders of the drug cartel group, La Familia, has reportedly been killed. Mexican national security says Nazario Moreno a.k.a "El Chayo" is dead following a battle with police in the Mexican state of Michoacan. The operation, which included a number of Mexican agencies, killed five federal agents, three criminals and three civilians. Three others were arrested.

Kinda good news, but does this mean the Mexican initiative to get rid of the bad guys is headed in the right direction? I doubt it, Mexico is a failed state in this area, and needs US intervention to clean it up.

Yeah, Mexico needs U.S. intervention, just like Korea and Vietnam needed us. And let's not forget how much Iraq and Afghanistan appreciate all we've done for them. We are not the global saviors we like to see ourselves as. Let's just try and keep our own country afloat for once!
