It's hot for humans and even hotter for our four-legged friends in fur coats. That means we need to pay special attention to them. Temperatures in the triple digits mean dogs search for small slivers of shade to keep cool. But even in the shade, on days like this, it's burning hot.
Dogs need lots of water shade and access to a shady spot. When possible, bring them inside for a chance to cool off. If your dog is lethargic, doesn't want to walk or even hold its head up and has a glazed look in its eyes it may be suffering from heat stroke. Best thing to do is get it to a cool spot and hose it down with cool water.
