How to Dispose of Leftover Cooking Oil, Grease

EL PASO- If you’re frying a turkey during the holiday season the City of El Paso Environmental Services reminds you to recycle your leftover cooking oil and grease.

Residents should never place or pour cooking fats, oil or grease down the drain, as they can cause the sewer line to back up into your home or in the storm drains, which flow to our wastewater treatment plants.

Citizens can take used frying and cooking oil to a City of El Paso Citizen Collection Station. There is no fee for this service. Visitors must bring a current El Paso Water Utilities bill and corresponding identification.

The drop-off sites will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and on Friday, Nov. 25th. They will resume normal operating hours on Saturday, Nov. 26th. Citizen Collection Stations are normally open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and they are located at:

• 4501 Hondo Pass
• 1034 Pendale
• 2492 Harrison
• 121 Atlantic
• 4200 Delta
