Mesquite, NM - Firefighters plan to spend the day monitoring a hay fire that continues to burn at a Mesquite Dairy.

The fire started around 2:45 a.m. at the Del Norte Dairy, according to the Dona Ana County emergency responders.

Firefighters may let the fire burn itself out, which could take at least a day.

So far, no word on what caused the fire or the dollar estimate of damage.
