On tonight's report we're featuring the highest and the lowest scoring restaurants from April 25th to May 1st .

The Little Caesars at 14476 Horizon Boulevard has another one of the highest scores we've ever featured on kitchen cops. It scored a 97. It's rare you find a restaurant that scores so well on an unannounced inspection. Inspectors found just one minor violation: a spray bottle with a purple liquid in it that needed to be labeled for safety reasons.

Moving on now to the Subway at 1746 Alameda. It scored a 91. That’s still a very good score. There weren’t many problems here either. One of the only violations? Inspectors found dry food particles in a microwave and on a prep table.

Vic's Flautas y Tortas at 308 Franklin also passed inspection with a score of 90. There were just a few minor violations here like a dirty food slicer.

Now on to some of the restaurants that failed inspection, meaning a score of 69 or below.

First on our failing list is Mr. Pancho at 11998 Alameda. It scored a 59. Inspectors said shredded cheese and beef flautas on the buffet weren't being kept cold or hot enough. There was moldy squash in a storage area. The inspector said they found flies throughout the restaurant and dry rodent droppings under a sink. And employees weren't wearing hairnets as required. This restaurant also passed re-inspection. Over the phone a manager told us they have a new owner.

Finally on this week's failing list is Monica's Cafe located at 3130 Lee Trevino. Inspectors gave it a score of 58. The inspector said a number of food items in the refrigerator weren't being kept cold enough. There were flies in the kitchen. A slicer, icemaker, grill and fryer were dirty. And employees weren't wearing hairnets. The inspector said they found Mexican food coloring in the kitchen that was not approved by the FDA. The restaurant also passed re-inspection.
