What's happening at Fort Bliss is changing America. That's what a new White House report says. The Obama administration says the $700-million stimulus invested in Fort Bliss ranks the post as the top project in the nation. Congressman Silvestre Reyes says new construction at Fort Bliss has generated 230 jobs.

"Recent data indicates that El Paso's economy continues to outperform the rest of the nation, and Recovery Act Funding has provided a much-needed boost to our community at a critical time," said Reyes.

Reyes says the funding has supported projects such as the Americas Interchange Project in East El Paso, a new fire station on the West Side, Sun Metro transit terminals, equipment for El Paso Police, and funding for local schools and community health centers.
