Firefighters Respond to 15 Weather-Related Calls

A car is destroyed, just one of more than a dozen wind-related calls as hurricane-force winds hit the Borderland. Today's destructive winds knocked out power, forced road closures and in some places made being outside dangerous.

A wind gust knocked bricks of a building onto a car in Central El Paso. The car was completely crushed. The force of the winds made the bricks topple over. It happened at the Los Arcos apartments.  Firefighters tell us they've been called out to 15 wind-related incidents throughout the day.

A haze of dirt covered the Sun City all day. Visibility was a nightmare on the Border Highway.

Shoppers in downtown El Paso had plenty to deal with outside. Strong winds whipped through the area. People did their best to brace the winds.
