EPPD Officer Nominated for Lifesaving Award
EL PASO- An El Paso Police Officer has been nominated for the Department’s Lifesaving Award.
Officer Gabriel Candia was nominated for the award after he saved a man’s life by administering CPR to help the man breathe again. The man later began to breathe on his own and was survived.
This award is given to any Officer, Civilian, or Volunteer of the El Paso Police Department, who rendered exceptional first aid that resulted in the saving of a human life or where a rescue attempt by the employee saved a person from something that would have likely caused that person’s death.
