El Dorado High Sets National Record in Blood Drive
EL PASO- The winner of the 2011 Battle of the Blood Drop between El Dorado and Montwood High has been decided.
The winner will be officially announced at a pep rally at El Dorado High School tomorrow, but it was announced today that the high school broke a national record for number of pints donated in one day. School officials were pleased to announce that El Dorado High gathered 417 pints and Montwood High gathered 350 pints.
While both schools are winners, as they have helped their community in providing necessary blood to local hospitals, El Dorado will take this year’s trophy and earned a new, unexpected title – national record holder. With 417 pints collected, El Dorado High School now holds the national record for the largest amount of blood units collected in a day for the entire United Blood Services system throughout the country.
