Don't leave kids in a hot car this summer!
EL PASO-Everyday the temperatures rises and so does the risk of a hot and terrible death for kids left in cars.
So far, there have been 3 deaths this year, one of them in Texas. It doesn't take much, a blazing sun, a parked car and a child left behind...this is a deadly combination that leads to hyperthermia, or heat stroke. Last year, 33 children died after being left in a hot car and Texas has consistently led the nation with the most deaths. The temperature inside any car, with windows rolled up, no a-c running and parked in the sun...can rise almost 20 degrees in just 10 minutes.
Leaving a child, forgetting a child or simply allowing a child to play in a parked car on a hot day can all lead to criminal charges.
