Doña Ana County Sheriff's Deputy selected to help carry torch at Special Olympics
DOÑA ANA COUNTY, N.M. — A Doña Ana County Sheriff's Deputy has been selected to help carry the torch that will signal the beginning of the 2013 Special Olympics Winter Games in South Korea later this month.
Deputy Michelle Ugalde will represent Doña Ana County and the United States as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg®.
The announcement was officially made Monday during a press conference at the Doña Ana County Government Center.
Ugalde joins law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes from 19 countries who will gather in South Korea for the winter games.
The games are scheduled for January 26th through February 5th in Pyeongchang, North Korea.
