Crime Stoppers Seek Man Involved in Las Cruces Bar Fight

Monday, August 1, 2011 - 5:40pm

LAS CRUCES- Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information about a Saturday morning bar fight that put two people in the hospital with severe injuries.

Early Saturday morning, police arrived at Graham Central Station and found a 21-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his stomach and a 31-year-old woman bleeding from severe cuts to her eye. Both were rushed to the hospital.

Police say a man became angry with the male about how he was dancing and started the fight. The suspect then hit the man over the head with a beer bottle and stabbed him several times with the broken glass.

When the suspect broke the glass over the man's head, shards of the bottle flew into the 31-year-old woman's eye. She was not involved in the fight and was only a bystander.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt and blue jeans. He is believed to have left the bar parking lot in a white Ford Explorer.

If you have any information on the identity of the suspect you are asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS (528477).

The Crime Stoppers number and text messaging services are operational 24 hours a day and you do not have to give your name to collect a reward.
