Company Hired For Comprehensive Plan On ASARCO Site
Plans are moving forward for the city to figure out what to do with the land around ASARCO.
The City of El Paso voted eight to one today to award a contract to a Miami-based company to create a new comprehensive plan for the city.
There are 460 acres of ASARCO-owned land around the abandoned smelter and on the north side of Interstate 10 near UTEP.
Twelve public hearings will be held to get input from the community on what to do with the land.
