EL PASO - It's beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas outside, but is everyone bringing the holiday spirit inside their homes.
A local Christmas tree vendor says sales are down about 20 percent compared to this time last year. The vendor says he thinks the bad economy is making people opt for a fake tree or no tree at all to save money for gifts.
"Every year we typically have the same clients come back to buy Christmas trees, but this year many haven't come," says Carlos Hernandez Chavez, tree vendor.
Joy’s Christmas Trees says the price of a tree can range anywhere from $25 to $130 and they give military discounts.
