It's been almost three weeks since we first heard the story of a woman in Northeast El Paso who turned over around 50 chihuahuas to animal control to be adopted.
Most have been adopted, but around 20 still need homes. The Animal Rescue League in Canutillo took in 20 of the little dogs, Animal Rescue has nine left. From the Heart Rescue, that takes in older dogs and dogs with medical problems, has about eight in different foster homes. Some are ready for adoption now but others need more time either to become socialized or to have their medical problems corrected.
