Brothers Arrested for Las Cruces Burglary
LAS CRUCES- Two brother were arrested for a Las Cruces robbery over the weekend, giving the term "family business" a whole new meaning.
Benjamin C. Rodriguez, 40, and his brother Johnny C. Rodriguez, 32, are charged with one count each of residential burglary and conspiracy. Benjamin Rodriguez also is charged with violating a domestic violence order.
Shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, witness saw someone breaking into a home and removing various items. Arriving officers learned that Benjamin Rodriguez, the soon-to-be ex-husband of the homeowner, and his brother Johnny were the suspects.
A short while later, and with the assistance of the Mesilla Marshals Office, both Rodriguez brothers were located and detained at a bar on Calle de El Paso.
Benjamin Rodriguez and Johnny Rodriguez were arrested and incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
