Dona Ana County is seeking applicants for the Animal Services Board. Applications are being accepted through Friday, January 27. The member of the public will serve on the assessment team assigned to evaluate programs and facilities at the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley.
The assessment team will work closely with shelter Executive Director Dr. Beth Vesco-Mock, who will provide logistical support and serve as an ex-officio member of the team. Also on the team will be a licensed veterinarian, a Las Cruces or Doña Ana County Animal Control officer, an individual with a background in building design/maintenance and the internal auditor of either Doña Ana County or the City of Las Cruces.
Their duties will include inspecting the facility and making determinations as to whether operations and programs are in compliance with both the ASV Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters and the ASCMV Policies and Procedures Manual.
To apply, send a letter of interest, a current resume and three letters of recommendation to Doña Ana County Public Information Director Jess C. Williams at 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, N.M. 88007.
Each applicant should state in the letter of interest why s/he would like to serve on the assessment team and why s/he is qualified to do so. Information in the resume and the reference letters should support the points made in the letter of interest.
