Actress Claims She was Thrown Off El Paso Flight for "Lesbian Kiss"
EL PASO- A Hollywood actress and is claiming she was kicked off of an El Paso flight because she is a lesbian.
Leisha Hailey, who is best known for her role on the Showtime series 'The L Word', claims flight attendants confronted her on board her Southwest Airlines flight because she kissed her girlfriend Camila Grey, who also plays with Hailey in their band ‘Uh Huh Her'.
Celebrities such as Kelly Osbourne and the gay rights group, GLADD have expressed concern that Southwest Airlines acted appropriately.
Hailey and Grey issued this statement to NewsChannel 9:
"We take full responsibility for getting verbally upset with the flight attendant after being told it was a "family airline.".
Southwest Airlines has since apologized for any inconvenience the airline may have caused the couple, but claims they acted on several complaints from other passengers.
They released this statement:
"Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all Customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight."
"We are ready to work directly with the passengers involved to offer our heartfelt apologies for falling short of their expectation."
