EL PASO- The West Texas Food Bank is asking El Pasoans for donations to feed the 86,000 kids at risk for hunger in El Paso.

West Texas, as a whole, is 12 points above the national average for hungry children and 21 of the 22 counties  served also beat the national average individually. A study conducted by Feeding America, 35 percent of children under the age of 18 are struggling with hunger in West Texas.

This puts our region 12 points higher than the national average of 23.2 percent and second only to the border region of Starr County and its immediate neighbors in Texas.

If you'd like to donate to the West Texas Food Bank, visit http://www.wtxfoodbank.org for more information.
