The New Mexico State track and field team finished the Don Kirby Invitational with improved times during the two-day meet in Albuquerque, N.M with senior Diana Hawk coming close to breaking her own school record in the mile.

Julian Washburn scored 15 points in an efficient offensive performance while locking down Old Dominion leading scorer Trey Freeman, as UTEP took over second place in C-USA with a 62-47 win over the Monarchs Saturday night.
The UTEP softball team fell to BYU, 9-0 (5 innings), and came up short against Nevada, 6-3, at the Wilson/DeMarini Desert Classic hosted by UNLV on Saturday afternoon.
