Ben Swann is an Emmy award winning Anchor/Reporter and is one of the most familiar faces on El Paso television.
His work as a journalist has taken him from covering California wildfires, to recovery efforts from Hurricane Katrina, to Washington D.C. to get answers from lawmakers. During the 2006 floods, Ben was the first live reporter to cover the storm, and was on the air for 15 hours during the height of flooding.
Born and raised just outside of Canutillo, Ben has had the privilege of living and working in his hometown nearly all of his life. Among his numerous AP and Edward R. Murrow awards, Ben's highest professional achievement was helping to change New Mexico state law to increase the penalties for deadly child abuse. It took 3 years to move the law through the New Mexico State Legislature.
Today, Ben is proud to call NewsChannel 9 home. As a reporter, he is able to continue to pursue stories that matter to people across the borderland. You can also catch Ben each evening as he anchors the 6:00 PM newscast. If you have a story idea or just want to say hi, you can contact Ben at bswann@ktsm.com
