A new study compares the sideeffects of drugs used to hold off pre-term labor. 192 pregnant women were given either magnesium sulfate or another drug to delay delivery for at least 48 hours.
The ones with magnesium sulfate experienced unpleasant side effects, such as shortness of breath and fluid build-up in the lungs.
