Thursday, May 17, 2007 - The prevalence of several mental health issues among survivors of Hurricane Katrina tops today's medical news. A new study finds that 38 percent of people who were evaluated at an emergency facility in New Orleans since Katrina were diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. That's ten times higher than the prevalence of the disorder in the general population.
