Wednesday, April 25, 2007 - Perhaps the most important decision you'll ever make is who you choose to marry. New research shows you might want to know how often that person drinks before you say "I do." Researchers found alcohol dependance was more common among people who married a spouse who was an alcoholic. In some cases, marrying someone who was dependent on alcohol lowered the chance their partner would drink because they had to respond to the excess alcohol by staying sober.

Women who are dependent on alcohol suffer brain damage faster than men do. In a new study, male and female alcoholics underwent tests that measured  how their brain responded to certain tasks. They found women performed worse on several tests that related directly to daily function. Researchers say this study shows alcohol may begin to take a mental toll on women first, which parallels previous studies that found women have physical symptoms of alcohol damage before men.

People with high IQ's don't have it all figured out, especially when it comes to money. A new study found people with high IQ's make more money than people with average to low intelligence. However, when it came to total wealth and financial difficulty, the groups were about the same. People with high IQ's reported having problems paying bills on time and maxing out their credit cards at the same rate, if not higher, than people with average scores.
