Monday, April 9, 2007 - Since the 1990's, cancer specialists have recommended that after age 40, women have regular mammograms once every year. But now a group of doctors with the American College of Physicians is urging women in their 40's to consult their doctors about whether they should be screened.
The group argues the risks for women in this age group outweigh the benefits, saying the x-rays create exposure to radiation and pain during the screening.
