Is Texting Replacing Hand-Holding?
A new survey suggests that the majority of people who own their own business spend more time holding their phones than they do their partner's hands.
The National Staples Small Business Survey studied the work and home lives of small business owners. 68% of small business owners said they used the same phone for both work and personal business, so it made it hard for them to switch gears during family time. 43% also admitted to working during family time.
The other argument is that technology and smart phones help small business owners balance their lives. 56% of those surveyed, for example, said the virtual tools at their fingertips helped them work more from home.
There's still home for romance, though; 63% of those surveyed said they would feel greater withdrawals from being without their significant others for a week than if they had to go without their phone for a day.
